An Olive Grove

Just a few minutes north of the Garden of Gethsemane, and the throng of tourist buses, lies Zurim Valley National Park, a very quiet, still, and peaceful spot with a lot of green ground cover, wildflowers, and olive trees!  After visiting the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations, and seeing the touristy side of the holy sites, we came here for quiet devotion and reflection.  It was not hard to imagine that someplace like this was where Jesus would bring his disciples for prayer and instruction.  And, where he would be betrayed and arrested.

If you squint your eyes, and block out the cars from your imagination, you might be able to envision what an olive grove may have looked like in the 1st century.
